Magnify College Ministry
Vision and
-This is to be practiced in four main areas:
Love of God and Neighbor
Living to the Fullest
Liberation
Life Change
Love of God and Neighbor
We strive to be a family who is on a love mission for Christ. We understand that the world around us is filled with sin and pain, and we will do whatever it takes to declare to the world that Jesus Christ provides the ONLY salvation from sin and the corrupt environment in which we live. We believe that sharing this truth is the ultimate act of love, for it provides one with an opportunity to embrace the abundant, free, and radically transformed life that is found only in Christ. We desire to get out of our comfortable “Christian Bubble” in order to build real, loving relationships with lost people and for God to use us and those relationships to transform our city, nation, and world as we seek to love others in a way that communicates God’s love for them. This includes loving people by meeting BOTH their physical needs AND spiritual needs, and we believe that BOTH of these needs must be addressed compassionately and fervently.
The source of our love for others is that we are even more radically and passionately in love with Jesus. We will strive to always love our God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and we desire to exhibit that love in the ways we think and act every second of every day. Our lives are dedicated to nothing other than glorifying the Name that is truly above all other Names: Jesus!
Living to the Fullest
We strive for everything we speak, do, and think to be centered around Christ and magnify His glorious Name as we live lives of worship. This includes serving Christ and others out of whole hearted love, respect, and selfless obedience to our Lord every day. This kind of lifestyle leads to a truly full life that is significant, purposeful, and has an eternal impact. Additionally, we believe that this lifestyle is to be lived in communion with God and with other believers as we seek to be a loving family of truly devoted Christ-followers. We desire to love each other as our own flesh and blood as we walk through life together, grow closer to God together, hold each other accountable, and have a BLAST! All of these things bring true happiness as we participate in a constantly growing relationship with God and the fellow Christ-followers that He has placed in our lives.
Liberation
We believe that Jesus does not only save us from the eternal punishment that we deserve for our sin but that He also liberates us from that sin. It is in Christ that we find true freedom and are empowered to overcome all sin. This does not mean that we will never make mistakes, for we are still human. However, this does mean that as a church we will invoke the power of God to overcome any sin in our life and to move past the mistakes and stumbles that we have along the way as we gradually begin to sin less and less and to please our Father in Heaven more and more. Through Christ we are able to move past our past and to walk into the glorious and free future that the Lord has for us.
Life Change
We strive to fulfill Jesus’ command to make disciples of all nations in order to see lives truly be transformed for the glory of God. This means that we will engage in strong Biblical teaching, regular Bible study, and accountability/mentoring relationships in order to spiritually grow through communion with God and with other believers. The goal is not just to see God “save souls”, but rather for Him to save them, grow them, and teach them to share this work with others. As we walk through this process, our lives are transformed, we shake off our shackles and addictions, and we become more and more like our Savior Jesus Christ.
What kind of things are we going to do?
2 weeks out of the month we are going to do Bible study/discipleship
We will have one "night on the town" per month to promote community and fellowship
We will do one service/outreach project per month with the purposes of helping meet physical needs and building relationships with lost people in order to share Jesus.
In all of these things and all the time we will strive to shine the light of Jesus every second of every day so as to magnify His Name above all else!
Motivating verse:
Matthew 5:14-16
"You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."
It is my solemn prayer that God uses this ministry to make an eternal impact, transform lives, change out community, nation, and world, and ultimately that His Name be Magnify in the highest!! Amen!
