What do we mean by Magnify Christ?
"We strive to magnify Christ so overwhelmingly that people don't remember us but only remember Jesus and how He transformed lives." That sounds all fancy and good, but what does that really mean?
What we mean by this is that we want Jesus to so overwhelmingly dominate and over flow out of every encounter we have with each other and others that they can't possibly remember anything else but Jesus and the amazing, transformational work that He has done. We want for everything that we think, say, and do to point to Jesus in a way that brings people to their knees in worship of the Father. Everything about us should scream JESUS louder than anything else! As we love God and others, live to the fullest in the life that Christ died for us to have, see people liberated from the shackles of sin through Christ, and see Him initiate true life change, we believe that Jesus will be lifted up and magnified above everything else! If Jesus is the forefront of all we do, then He is all that people will see, and He is all that people will remember.
Why is it that we are so adamant about magnifying Christ in this way? The answer is simple. Jesus is the Name above all other Names. He is the one who convicts, saves, transforms, renews, penetrates, heals, liberates, empowers, impassions, and rules. He is the ultimate good. He is all that is pure and holy. He is God! Why would we want people to remember anything else? Jesus is the one who transforms lives, so He should totally dominate any experience that anyone may have with us. Jesus is all in all. He is the only thing that counts.
That is what Magnify is all about: We want Him to overwhelmingly dominate everything we do so much that He is the only thing that people can remember because the mark that He left was infinitely greater than the mark any of us left. By magnifying Him to such an extent, we hope to see Jesus make an impact that outshines all others.
Come. Let us magnify Christ together, for that is how the world will be changed!
